R/GA expands message of acceptance for #WeAreAmerica campaign
WWE superstar John Cena challenges traditional notions of patriotism in a new extension of the Ad Council’s "Love Has No Labels" campaign called "We Are America." The three-and-a-half minute online spot by R/GA debuted on the 4th of July. Cena, a 15-time wrestling world champion and Guinness World Record holder for granting the most wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation, delivers a cerebral monologue linking diversity and national pride as he walks the streets of a small town. The PSA is also running on television and through Upworthy, and brands like Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, P&G, Unilever, State Farm, Google and Johnson & Johnson are promoting it on their social platforms. Viewers can also share their own photo,s with the campaign through a Facebook ad unit, and Twitter created a custom emoji for #WeAreAmerica and #LoveHasNoLabels that will be available for the next month.
