New Brad Pitt film Troy promoted through Yahoo! deal

LONDON - Yahoo! has signed a deal with Warner Bros to promote the new Brad Pitt film 'Troy' starting today, including hosting the cinema-length trailer.

It is the first time that a full-length cinema trailer has been hosted on Yahoo! UK & Ireland. It will appear on the starting today, Friday, with further promotion across the Yahoo! network next week.

Alison Reay, director of sales at Yahoo! UK & Ireland, said: "The internet is proving to be the ideal platform for movie campaigns as the combination of unbounded creativity and our target audience enables movie houses to create powerful and impactful campaigns."

He added: "Our target audience of 16- to 34-year-olds is attracting more and more movie campaigns and the Warner Bros 'Troy' campaign is leading the way with its groundbreaking trailer."

The campaign was planned and bought by PHDiQ and is part of a wider above-the-line multimedia campaign incorporating outdoor, press and TV.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, 'Troy' stars Brad Pitt as Achilles and Orlando Bloom as Paris, and looks set to be this year's blockbuster with its battle scenes featuring thousands of extras. Other actors appearing in the film include Brian Cox as Agamemnon, Sean Bean as Odysseus and Peter O'Toole as Priam. It opens today.
