Net-A-Porter starts search for agency

The online fashion brand Net-A-Porter has kicked off a search for a media agency to handle its online planning and buying account.

The retailer, which has previously focused its marketing activities on search and e-mail, is looking to appoint an agency ahead of a planned burst of online display advertising. The company has approached several agencies about the business.

Net-A-Porter appointed The Search Works to handle its search marketing account last June and this relationship is thought to be unaffected. It also uses the e-mail marketing specialist Lyris and drives 32 per cent of its sales through e-mail.

Last year, Net-A-Porter appointed Alison Loehnis as its first vice-president of sales and marketing. Loehnis joined from Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, where she was the global marketing director for the Thomas Pink shirt brand.

The London-based e-tailer Net-A-Porter was launched in 2000 and sells fashion items from more than 150 high-fashion labels including Oscar de la Renta, Fendi and Donna Karan.
