The app lets members of the reward scheme check their balance of points and collect personalised offers from Nectar partners including Sainsbury's, BP, Homebase and Hertz.
The app has been developed in-house in response to research showing that, of the Nectar card members who own iPhones, 90% said they would like to be able to access account information on the move.
Although the app does not allow new members to sign up, Nectar said it believes it will boost the number of collectors opting in to offers.
At the same time, Sainsbury's becomes the latest supermarket to launch an iPhone app, also created by the in-house team at Nectar. Its offering gives details of store locations and current offers. Both apps are available for free.
Jan-Pieter Lips, managing director of Nectar, said: "The new apps represent the first of many exciting mobile developments to ensure Nectar is always relevant for collectors and, importantly, giving collectors the choice to interact with the programme in the way they want using the channel which is most relevant to their lifestyle."
