NatWest launches updated web site

NatWest has relaunched its site (www.natwest.com) to make it more customer-focused, with an improved look, streamlined content and new functionality.

Among the changes, content has been cut by two-thirds to make navigation easier and copy rewritten to make it clearer.

Changes have also been extended to the OnLine Banking and Stockbroking areas. A new 'Service Information' message area on OnLine Banking keeps users up to date with upgrades and functionality, besides giving them tips on using the service.

Customers can now download multiple accounts and credit card information into financial packages. The site also includes a new home and car insurance quote and purchase tool.

David Head, head of NatWest e-commerce and internet, said: "The internet has matured into a key service and distribution channel, complementing the traditional branch network and telephone banking service. We wanted to ensure the site gives users the best experience."

The site was designed and built by the inhouse NatWest e-commerce and internet team with Zentropy Partners. Analysis shows sales conversions up 10-30 per cent since the launch.
