NatWest adds mobile phone - FastPay offer

NatWest is to allow users to send cash using their mobile phones as part of FastPay, its digital payments service.

Since its launch in August, NatWest FastPay has only let users send cash payments from its bespoke site (www.fastpay.com) to email users and mobile phone users.

But customers will now be able to register a mobile number, select a six-digit PIN number and make a payment by calling a dedicated NatWest number from their mobile.

Users tap in their PIN, the recipient's mobile number and the amount they wish to send. The recipient then receives a text message alerting them to visit the FastPay web site.
