
The historical event space said its applications are up 20% from the previous tender in 2006.
"The tender for catering contracts always attracts intense competition from within the industry and we are delighted to have received a record number of applications from excellent caterers of all sizes," said Natural History Museum operation manager Nigel Mullins.
The London venue accommodates around 200 commercial events a year, co-ordinated exclusively by those on its supplier list.

The accreditation process requires caterers to demonstrate effective service of dinners and receptions for up to 1,200 guests, a minimum of two years experience catering at major London venues, and an ability to enhance the events business at the museum.
The venue will announce its 2010-2013 preferred catering suppliers in October.
