Railway Children, a charity championing the welfare of street children, has launched the Christmas-themed campaign to highlight the fact there are just nine beds available nationwide for an estimated 100,000 children who end up sleeping rough each year.
The nine cribs left on London's streets by experiential agency Nude will be followed by advertising on the London Underground, which carries the message: "This Christmas thousands of children will sleep on the streets because they are too afraid to go home".
The cribs also appear in a two-minute film hosted on the charity's website which expands on the message.
The charity wants the Government to create a network of emergency safe houses for children sleeping rough.
