The Birmingham venue is planning to launch a pop-up art gallery in June called ‘A celebration of the motorcycle’. It will run until October and feature the work of artists, art students and local school children.
Screenings of key British motorcycle races will take place in the venue, with plans to show the SBK UK race on 25 May, and the MotoGP race at Silverstone on the weekend of 29 August. Other screenings could be confirmed throughout the year.
Corporate event bookers and agents will be able to visit the venue as part of a showcase event in October to meet the in-house events team, as well as see and hear the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, which rises out of the stage floor in the imperial suite.
The 30th anniversary series of events will round off at the end of the year with 1980s-themed parties over the Christmas season.
Nick Hartland, director of the National Motorcycle Museum, said: "The motorcycle industry is one of Britain’s great engineering achievements and we are pleased that we are able to share its history while providing event organisers with a truly unique venue.
"2014 is going to be an exciting year for us, as we develop our offering to continue beating our clients’ high expectations."
