The campaign has been gathering momentum over the past few months and this year has attracted a senior level of support, from members of the coalition government to Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic, Costa Coffee and The Premier League.

Throughout the week the industry will underline its major economic contributions across the UK with a variety of events including the ACC Liverpool on The Big Wheel of Liverpool and the NEC working with Malmaison Hotels and Marketing Birmingham.

Tomorrow (19 October) the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) will launch the Britain for Events market report, outlining the growing and significant role meetings and events play for UK business.

The report will form part of the communication for the House of Commons reception, taking place on Wednesday (20 October), at which more than 50 MP’s will gain first hand industry intelligence from some of the leading names in the industry.

On Thursday (21 October) the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) will host a chairman’s lunch for the heads of each of the industries trade associations.

Rounding off the week on Friday (22 October) MIA venues across the UK will host local MP’s as part of the Britain for Events Constituency Day.
