Nat Mags poaches GQ's Parviz to be publisher of Esquire

LONDON - The National Magazine Company has raided Conde Nast's GQ and appointed its associate publisher Maria Parviz as publisher of Esquire.

The newly created role will see Parviz, who was at GQ for six years, reporting to group publishing director Tess Macleod Smith. Her task is to run the business side of Esquire following its redesign last year by editor Simon Tiffin.

Macleod Smith said: "Maria has an unrivalled background in the quality men's market and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team."

Esquire's most recent ABC circulation figures were up 20% year-on-year to 69,193.
