MySpace, FX team for user-generated content

LONDON - MySpace TV has handed its users a chance to star on News Corp-owned pay TV channel FX via new show wannabeonfx, by uploading videos to the site.

The News Corp-owned social network will select the best comedy videos uploaded to myspace.com/wannabeonfx to feature alongside regular shows Family Guy and The Newsroom in its comedy slot on Thursday nights.

FX, which along with MySpace, is a subsidiary of News Corp, became the first broadcaster to debut a show on the social network when it premiered Brotherhood in October last year.

The move is designed to give MySpace users a higher profile and increase the number of users and amount of interaction on MySpace TV.

Wannabeonfx will run for 10 weeks and be promoted through banner advertising on MySpace and other Fox sites.
