MTV promotes Pierluigi Gazzolo to COO

LONDON - Viacom-owned MTV Networks International has appointed Pierluigi Gazzolo as chief operating officer.

Currently president of MTV Networks Latin America, Gazzolo succeeds Alex Ferrari who is now chief operating officer for the Music & Logo Group at MTV Networks US.

In his new role, Gazzolo will be responsible for MTV Networks' international operations.

Gazzolo will continue in his role as president of MTVN Latin America to ensure a smooth transition until a successor is named and will continue reporting to Bob Bakish, president of MTV Networks International.
 
Bakish said: "Pier's extensive experience in the media industry and in-depth knowledge of our brands will be invaluable in his role as chief operating officer."

Gazzolo has been with MTV Networks Latin America for more than 15 years n a number of roles. In 2005, he was appointed president of MTV Networks Latin America.
