The event, called Research 2005 and taking place from March 16-18 at The Barbican, London, is being staged under the theme of "Reconstructions".
A statement from the society said: "Reconstructions will cover a broad range of issues, including the ways in which researchers are working strategically with management consultants, advertisers and marketers to break new ground."
The conference will also look at how research can reorganise brands, companies and businesses to be future-facing, as well as the impact that the reorganisation and consolidation of the research industry is having on business effectiveness.
A spokeswoman for the society said further details of which firms are taking part would be announced next month.
