MPG scores with £12m Eidos pan-European business

LONDON - Media Planning Group has won the pan-European media account for Lara Croft games firm Eidos, worth between £10m and £12m.

Covering markets in the UK, France and Germany, Havas-owned MPG will create individual media plans for each game in Eidos' 2006 range including the soon-to-be-released 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend' title and 'Championship Manager 2006'.

To win the account, MPG beat Mediaedge:cia in the final two-way shootout.

Mark Craze, managing partner at MPG, said: "The pitch team produced superb strategic thinking, which our network has the capability to turn into powerful local market campaigns that will ensure Eidos has real cut-through."

Dave Clark, European marketing director at Eidos, said: "MPG has a deep knowledge and understanding of both our consumers and our business. We will be working closely with them on a number of innovative and insightful ways to reach core consumers."

Eidos was acquired by Sci Entertainment in May 2005. The group now controls gaming properties including 'Commandos Strike Force', 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Hitman' and the 'Conflict: Global Storm' series.
