
Clare Donald, the chief production officer at Ogilvy UK and a member of its senior management team, is leaving the agency. Donald was only given the newly-created role in May following the integration of multiple agencies including Ogilvy & Mather and OgilvyOne under a single Ogilvy umbrella and run by chief executive Michael Frohlich. She had held the same role at O&M. Donald leaves without a job to go to and a spokeswoman said a successor would be announced shortly. Meanwhile the agency has promoted Jon Tapper to head of advertising where he will lead the advertising capability across all of its clients. Tapper joined Ogilvy in 2016 as managing partner and head of account management, leading the charge on the Vodafone account. Before joining Ogilvy, Tapper was Head of Account Management at Bartle Bogle Hegarty where he led the Barclays business.
BMB has appointed Jason Cobbold as chief executive. Starting in October, Cobbold will be charged with reviving the agency and will report to Kevin Park, the chief executive of Cheil Europe. The chief executive post at BMB has been vacant since the end of last year when Juliet Haygarth stepped down to recover from health issues. Cobbold was previously the managing director at US-based innovation agency Redscout.
Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, who left Marks & Spencer in May following a business restructure, has been appointed chief executive at Dubai-based Emaar Malls. Bousquet-Chavanne will relocate to the Gulf at the start of August to take up the role. He replaces Nasser Rafi, who will move to another role in the company.
Former Saatchi & Saatchi global chairman and chief executive of the Central Office of Information Alan Bishop has taken over the leadership of the lobby group Creative Industries Federation from its founding chief executive John Kampfner. Kampfner, who helped set up the Federation in 2014, will assist Bishop in a transition period over the next four months.
The Body Shop has announced two new senior marketing appointments. Lionel Thoreau joins as global brand director from L'Occitane Group where he held the role of global growth officer, while Elen Macaskill, previously The Body Shop’s chief marketing officer, has been appointed to the newly-created role of global customer director. The moves follow the sale of the global beauty brand by L’Oreal to ethical Brazilian beauty brand Natura in December 2017.
Angus Macadam is taking the sole executive creative director role at Mcgarrybowen London role following his partner Paul Jordan's departure to WCRS. Mcgarrybowen has also hired creative director duo Simon Lotze and Miguel Nunes from Wieden & Kennedy. The award-winning pair has worked across two continents at agencies including Grabarz & Partner, TBWA, Lowe and Ogilvy & Mather.
Unlimited Group has named Sarah Shilling its new group chief marketing officer. Previously managing partner, brand at Unlimited Group, Shilling joined the business in 2013 when she moved to Fever Unlimited as a board director then subsequently became director of Operations across both Fever Unlimited and Nelson Bostock Unlimited. She replaces Ryan Wain who has left to pursue a legal career.
Zenith has created a new function to drive performance services for global clients, which will be led by Jos Smyth, who has been appointed to the newly-created role of global head of performance. Smyth joins Zenith from Digitas, where he was vice president, group director, national lead of SEO for North America.
Yonder Media, the independent media agency, has appointed Sabrina Francis as its first group brand lead. Francis joins from Vevo where she was head of strategic solutions.
Inskin Media has promoted sales director Evan Russell to commercial director, while former head of creative solutions Bartlomiej Dabrowski becomes creative director.
