
Ivan Pollard has been appointed global chief marketing officer of General Mills. Pollard was previously vice-president, strategic marketing at Coca-Cola. He starts on 10 July and will report to chief executive Jeff Harmening.
Paul Hammersley, the former chief executive at DDB and Cheil, is setting up Harbour, an agency collective of independent shops that intend to "level the playing field" and compete against holding companies.
The group has seven founding agencies including George & Dragon, Goodstuff, Oliver and Talon. Hammersley said more agencies will be joining during the next few months.
Bloomberg has hired Stephanie Flanders, the chief market strategist for JPMorgan Asset Management in London, to lead a new unit called Bloomberg Economics. Flanders starts in October and will be based in London. She will report directly to editor in chief of Bloomberg News and Reto Gregori, the deputy editor in chief.
