LONDON - Rachel Ward, Motorola's UK marketing director, has left the company as part of a restructure of the mobile manufacturer's marketing team and ongoing global redundancies.

Simon Collinson, who has been director of marketing strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa for just four months, has been promoted to Western Europe marketing director and will take on Ward's UK responsibilities.

Ward was recently promoted to marketing director for the UK, and was responsible for the manufacturer's ROKR Stars talent competition.

But Andrew Morley, vice-president of marketing, EMEA, has now split senior marketing responsibilities for Western Europe, and Central and Eastern Europe between Collinson and Tom Satchwell.

James King, who was poached back from rival Samsung as European marketing director last year, has become 360 degree marketing director.

Collinson's new role means that as well as Ward's UK marketing activities, he acts in Morley's role when he is out of the country. Morley has taken on marketing for more of Motorola's Asian regions including Vietnam and South Korea and is frequently travelling out of the UK.

Collinson previously worked with Morley at Sky, where he was retail marketing and distribution director before moving to Bacardi-Martini.
