Motorola global marketing chief Jeremy Dale exits

LONDON - Jeremy Dale, corporate vice-president of global marketing at Motorola and former Orange marketing director, is leaving the company at the end of this month without a job to go to.

Dale joined Motorola four years ago as head of retail and channel marketing and took over for chief marketing officer Casey Keller in March 2007.

During his time at the company Dale was involved in Motorola's three-year advertising and retail collaboration with David Beckham, and was also behind the Motorola Red products, part of the campaign to fight Aids in Africa.

A spokeswoman for Motorola said that Dale, who is British, wants to return to the UK after working at the mobile phone company's US headquarters.

She confirmed that Bruce Brda, senior vice-president and business general for Greater China, will take over for Dale until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Dale joined Motorola from Orange, where he held the position of UK marketing director for four years.

Prior to that he was the launch sales and marketing director for digital terrestrial service OnDigital and head of marketing for its replacement ITV Digital.

Dale's departure from Motorola comes just two weeks after Rachel Ward, Motorola's UK marketing director, announced she was leaving as part of a restructure of the company's marketing team.

Simon Collinson, director of marketing strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa, has been promoted to Western Europe marketing director, taking on Ward's UK responsibilities.
