The industry’s national show ran from 16-21 October.
Attendance was up by 5% on the 2011 show, which was the first event delivered by NCC Events, the exhibitions arm of the National Caravan Council.
Due to demand for more space, the show was increased by 13% to occupy an eleventh hall at the venue, creating 83,400 sqm of space.
Jane Lang, senior account manager at the NEC, said: "We're thrilled to see this national show report such positive feedback both in visitor and sales figures. And with the show needing to expand by 13 per cent, in only its second year, because the demand for floor space was so high, it just reinforces the fact that the NEC is the place where shows grow."
Attendance was higher than anticipated from the opening day, with more than 14,100 people visiting the show. It remained consistently high throughout the week culminating in 27,176 visitors on Saturday 20 October.
John Lally, chief executive of NCC Events, said: "The last six days have been exceptional. As the organisers of an event like this, our measures of success are that visitors enjoy themselves and exhibitors achieve excellent sales results. The feedback so far is that we achieved both of these targets so we’re delighted."
The Motorhome & Caravan Show will return to the NEC from 15–20 October 2013.
