As many as 25 bids have made it on to a shortlist, according to reports, and key to the success of their proposals is thought to be a high-profile name with good connections in the sport. Experienced event managers are also said to be in high demand.
Interpublic is seeking to offload the business, part of its sports division Octagon, as it concentrates on alleviating its financial situation. Brands Hatch Circuits lost a reported $135.8m (£85.4m) last year, after being profitable in 2001 and is attributed with contributing to the network's losses.
The business, which also owns Cadwell Park, Snetterton and Oulton Park circuits, as well as managing Silverstone and the British Superbike and British Touring Car Championships, is expected to fetch as much as £70m.
Brands Hatch Circuits was renamed from Octagon Motor Racing UK earlier this year by Interpublic to avoid confusion when it posted the "for sale" sign on the business.
The Kent-based track was built in 1926 and was the home of the British Grand Prix until 1986, when it was moved to Silverstone. That year, the track was bought by John Foulston, along with the other circuits, to create Brands Hatch Leisure.
Foulston was killed racing at Silverstone in 1987 and his wife Nicola took over the running of the business. Brands Hatch Leisure was floated on the stock market in 1996 and Interpublic bought it in 1999 for £120m.
