Mogull given chief operating officer role by BBC

LONDON - Kerstin Mogull has been appointed to the newly created role of chief operating officer of BBC Future Media and Technology, the division responsible for new media projects.

Previously deputy director of policy and strategy, Mogull takes up the position immediately, reporting to new director of the division, Erik Huggers.

Mogull will focus on the management of the division, its partnerships with other BBC divisions - Vision, Audio & Music and Journalism - and its relationship with the BBC Trust.

Huggers took charge of the BBC Future Media & Technology division on 1 August after Ashley Highfield left the BBC to become chief executive of video-on-demand service Kangaroo.
