MindShare wins £83m pan-European Motorola account

LONDON - Motorola has handed its 拢83m pan-European media planning and buying account to MindShare after a final two-way pitch.

MindShare beat Carat in a head-to-head pitch for the mobile phone manufacturer's account. Universal McCann, the incumbent on the 拢10m UK business, was knocked out in an earlier round.

The appointment concludes a global review of Motorola's media business. Earlier this year, Motorola awarded its Asia-Pacific business to MindShare and shifted its US business from Universal McCann to Carat.

Motorola called the global pitch in order to reduce its agency roster from nine to two.

MindShare had been tipped to win the account and is thought to have already entered exclusive negotiations with the electronics firm.
