Mills & Boon redesigns to emphasise different series

LONDON - Mills & Boon, the romance publisher, has redesigned its packaging to help readers distinguish more easily between racy series and its more traditional historical and medical stories.

The design has been undertaken by Reach, and covers the 11 different series published under the banners of Mills & Boon and Silhouette.

The series cater to readers' differing tastes, and vary from Silhouette Special Edition, with an emphasis on warm family stories, to Mills & Boon Blaze, which promise readers that they are "so full of scorching hot passion, you're liable to singe your fingers just turning the pages".

The aim is to convince readers that there is more to buy when they are shopping the Mills & Boon stand in supermarkets and bookstores, as well as persuading new readers to pick up a title.

Harlequin Mills & Boon is backing the relaunch with point-of-sale promotions at Sainsbury's and Borders.

The company publishes 66 titles a month through all of its imprints.
