Millennium acquires Tardis Communications

LONDON - Millennium has acquired media sales specialist, Tardis Communications for an undisclosed sum.

Tardis is best known for promoting the success of the Quickpages directories - distributed by direct mail to over 12 million UK consumers each year, and promoting well-known insurance brands such as Direct Line, Churchill and Norwich Union.

With call volumes increasing by 100% in 12 months, it has become a key source for new insurance enquiries from customers wishing to get a quote over the phone.

Martin Smith, of Millennium says: "The general insurance market is massive but much of the growth is being directed to online rather than traditional telephones for quotes. The problem for the insurers is that consumers use online for research but the vast majority of cases (upwards of 75%) will want to talk with someone before they complete. This is particularly true with the older mature market (the key focus of Millennium)."

Graham Mace, founder of Tardis, will now focus on his lead optimisation business, Optilead. He says: "Having spent over 20 years on direct marketing client side, helping to set up Quickpages from scratch has been an interesting learning curve and a really great experience. Millennium has ambitious plans to launch other directories which will build on the established success of Quickpages."
