Midland News launches on mobile

The Midland News Association has announced plans to launch two of its websites - Express and Star and Shropshire Star - on mobile phones.

The content on Expressandstar.com and Shropshirestar.com will now be available to mobile phone users who have internet access, allowing them to see news and sport information as well as joining online debates and commenting on stories.

The branded sites - created by Midland's News Association's online division, MNA Digital - will carry images and will be updated with breaking news throughout the day.

The company worked with mobile technology company Wapple in developing the mobile sites.

Expressandstar.com had 1.2 million visits and 6.6 million page impressions in July, which came from 380,000 unique users, while Shropshirestar.com clocked up 280,000 visits from 120,000 unique users and two million page impressions.
