LONDON - Jacqueline O'Sullivan has been promoted to head of marketing communications at Microsoft Advertising as part of a restructure that saw Nickie Smith take the role of UK marketing director for the business in December.

Microsoft Adverting appoints head of marcoms

Previously category marketing manager, O'Sullivan reports to Smith, who became marketing director with new responsibility for the strategic trade marketing plan, supporting the sales force and growing Microsoft Advertising's share of the online advertising market. Smith replaced Alex Marks, who has become head of propositions.

The new marketing team reports to commercial director Chris Ward, who reports to former Project Kangaroo chief executive Ashley Highfield. Highfield has joined Microsoft as UK consumer and online managing director, responsible for driving all sales, marketing, content and programming, business development, partner efforts and operations.
