What’s something every media industry person should do before they’re 30?
Pick a company that fits with your aspirations and where you’ll nurture your knowledge. Take your chance to work for clients that interest you. People make a place worth working at, so by working alongside them, you’ll learn from the best.
Challenge yourself and others. Ask questions. This industry is moving at fast pace and there’s nothing worse than working on something that you don’t believe in. By all means be always constructive, but if there’s a better way of doing things, stand-up and share your thoughts.
Lastly and most importantly – enjoy the ride. You’ll learn by making mistakes. Have fun!
If you could only take one thing to a desert island, what would you choose and why?
Anywhere I go I take my iPhone with the Google Maps app which helps me to easily orientate myself and find the quickest way to my destination.
However, in case this is a very isolated island, I guess that I’ll have no internet connection and that my battery will run out quickly – bye bye paradisiac Instagram pictures...
If I can bring a big "thing", I’d choose a yacht so I can enjoy the best from both worlds: enjoy the peace and quiet on the island, sip some cocktails, and get back to civilisation whenever I like.
Worst case scenario – if I can only bring a small thing, I’d take a knife with me so I can open a coconut to get some fresh water, cut off some branches to build a raft (which I’d stitch together with some twigs) and get out of there!
