What’s something every media industry person should do before they’re 30?
Get involved in 'Media Thursdays'. You're young, you usually have no family commitments so if you're serious about a career in media embrace the 'Media Thursday' scene. This industry is all about relationships and contacts so the more you are out there meeting people, going to agency events or hosting your own nights the better. During my career, I have got to know people extremely well just by bumping into them at events or by hanging out in their after work drinking hole (not in a stalker way!). But because of this I really believe it has helped me form solid relationships in the industry (even some friendships!) and has helped me get further up the ladder than I might have. You never know who you'll be introduced to or where people will end up in this industry so if there's something going on (and there usually is) on a Thursday then go!
If you could only take one thing to a desert island, what would you choose and why?
I'd choose my best friend Stef. We've island hopped around Thailand together, stayed on a boat and sailed around the Whitsunday islands together, we've even graced most of the Irish bars on the Canary islands together! So it would only seem fitting to bring her to a desert island with me. And everything is always better with a friend!
