As reported yesterday, Bauer Media decided to terminate the contract for the independent regional sales house to represent its magazines and hand it to the Manchester operation of its sister company, H Bauer.
Media Sales Network staff are understood to be in a consultation period, ahead of H Bauer taking over the contract on 27 February.
Meanwhile, Bauer's radio division has hired Wilkinson in the new role of head of agency sales in its Manchester office. It also has offices in Edinburgh and London.
Joining in March, Wilkinson will report to Barry Wood, commercial director for Scotland and North West England. Key stations for the Manchester office include the city's Key 103, Birmingham's Kerrang, Liverpool's Radio City and Leeds' Radio Aire.
Wilkinson has been at Media Sales Network since 1999 and has been managing director since 2010.
Wood said: "Angela's appointment is great news for the Bauer Media business in the north of England. Angela is a standout talent and her name is recognised across all of our key agency buyers.
"Angela fully embraces our strategy and her appointment strengthens our opportunity to deliver strong ideas, creative excellence and the best customer service to our most important agency customers in the north of England."
