According to Keith Tiley, EMEA business development director at MEC, Collison is leaving to pursue his own interests and MEC no longer requires the European marketing role.
Tiley said: "As a global network our marketing initiatives have needed to be more global than regional in nature."
MEC's global marketing is headed up by Nathalie Alfred, its global head of corporate communication.
Collison joined MEC in November 2006 from trade magazine . He was the editor of the title since 2001 and its publisher since 2005.
