The , which runs for the next four weeks, will include toys, cooking ‘gadgets’ and a recipe for kids to make at home. The deal was negotiated by licensing agent Performance Brands.

Planet Cook aims to teach children about cooking and the importance of a balanced diet. Each programme is based around a team cooking against the clock.

The campaign is in keeping with recent McDonalds campaigns which attempt to include an element of activity within the giveaway.

It is relatively rare for McDonalds to team up with UK television properties. One of these was a Happy Meal promotion with ITV show Art Attack in 2007.

The included a competition for children to draw their own "Crazy Creature" and describe it on the back of the entry form. The competition winners - one from each age category - had their monster recreated as an Art Attack.
