The 50 second ad, by The Red Brick Road, shows the former 'EastEnders' actress McCutcheon arriving at Penry-Jones' home for a date, but finding that the inside of the house is completely empty. As he welcomes her in, the house starts to fill up with everyday appliances and essentials, seamlessly delivered and installed by Tesco Direct delivery men.
Towards the end of the evening the house becomes increasingly well-stocked and the bed arrives just as McCutcheon asks her date what he has planned for later.
Tesco Direct's aim is to demonstrate that its new catalogue offers a range of products to suit all consumer budgets and tastes, which can be delivered direct to their doors.
The range covers furniture, homewares, electricals, toys, washing machines, TVs and bathroom suites among other items.
Karen Buchanan, managing director at The Red Brick Road, said: "The new TV ad captures the brilliant efficiency of the service, while also highlighting the great range of products on offer in a cheeky and entertaining way."
McCutcheon has starred in a previous Tesco campaign last year to promote the supermarket's green credentials.
