McCafé "Ball pit" by Leo Burnett London

McDonald's showcases its frill-free coffee range with an ad poking fun at other coffee shops.

The ad begins as a woman orders a latte from a "humble" coffee shop, before realising she is surrounded by adult ball pits, hanging chairs and one of those indoor DJs nobody really likes. Thrown off by the cafe’s decor, she unwittingly pays £5.30 for her latte.

"Ever feel like you’re paying for more than just a coffee?" a voiceover asks, before showing the no-frills approach of McCafe’s "simple" latte.

It was written by Gareth Butters, art directed by Pete Heyes and directed by Tony Barry through Independent. Media is handled by OMD.
