Storey joined Gallowglass in 1996 on a freelance basis after training as an actor at Rada.
His theatre industry contacts and knowledge have helped Gallowglass to increase its work with clients such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and Ambassador Theatre Group.
Nick Grecian, managing director of Gallowglass said: "We have been fortunate enough to enjoy decent growth over the past decade. Matt has been a valued member of the team throughout that time but proven that he was capable of more.
"Rising from crewman, through to excellent crew chief and up to head of business development, he has demonstrated fantastic commitment, communication skills and a depth of industry knowledge that is rarely found. He’ll make an enormously valuable contribution and bring a fresh perspective to the board and to our plans for future growth both in domestic markets and overseas."
Storey has also been a member of the board of industry association Eventia since 2007, driving membership growth and working on the Eventia Awards.
