Dubbed the ultimate singles fright night, the event will take place at London’s The Arts Theatre welcoming 300 singletons to watch the theatre show, as well as enjoy ghostly-inspired cocktails before and after at the venue’s Verve bar.
Attendees to the ticketed event, priced at £35 per person, will also receive a discount from taxi firm Uber to ensure they get home safely.
Kate Taylor, relationship expert for Match.com, said: "Events like this that get the pulses racing are a great way to meet potential dates as they increase the thrill of attraction.
"Studies have shown that raising our adrenaline levels increases how attractive we find other people. Mild fear gets our hearts pounding, making our bodies think it's our partner who's getting us excited. In tests, couples who watched a scary film together displayed more affectionate behaviour afterwards than couples who watched a comedy."
Andy Nyman, creator of Ghost Stories creator, added: "There is no doubt that horror has all the ingredients for the perfect date. The 'fear factor' raises the nerves and lowers people’s defences, automatically making people more chatty and giggly.
"We also hear endlessly that audience members grab onto the stranger next to them. When the show finishes, the joint experience is immediately bonding and continues as the evening progresses."
Match.com’s most recent dating event involved a partnership with East Coast trains, in which 200 singletons across London and the South East were able to take part in a dating event on a train. The event was hosted by radio DJ Scott Mills.
