Match creates breathalyser-activated condom machine

Dating site Match is encouraging single people to be confident dating sober with the unveiling of a breathalyser-activated condom vending machine.

Located for a trial period at the Brass Monkey pub on London’s Vauxhall Bridge Road, the contraption allows users to breathe into a hole to test how drunk they are.

They will be told whether they are either teetotal, sober, squiffy, merry, tipsy, boozy, drunk, really drunk, legless or 'game over'. Those that prove they are under the legal driving limit will be rewarded with a free condom.

Match hopes that its 'Johnny Be Good' invention will discourage drunken, bad dating choices and champion sober sex throughout dry January.

The experiential campaign is being supported by a new study conducted by Match, which shows that a third of singles have never slept with someone for the first time completely sober.
