Stockwood is leaving Match.com to concentrate on his non-executive board positions, where he acts as mentor to various companies.

He joined Match.com in 2007 where he became international managing director before taking on the UK managing director position, which also involves overseeing parent company Meetic and fellow subsidiary Dating Direct.

Stockwood is a digital veteran, having worked at Lastminute.com for five years from 2000 before joining Travelocity as managing director for Europe.

Stockwood told Revolution magazine: "It's been an incredible journey and privilege to work for a business that's about bringing people together. I have enjoyed every minute of my time working with such a committed team."

A spokesperson from parent company Meetic said: "Match.com has continued to grow across Europe and lead the category in the UK. Under Jason's leadership the business has doubled in size and his vision for the brand is testament to Match.com's popular place in public consciousness today. We wish him every success for the future as he moves onto new challenges."
