Marston's puts cricket spin on Pedigree packaging

LONDON - Marston's Pedigree is changing its on and off-trade packaging for the summer to highlight its association with the England cricket team.

The limited edition bottles, cans and hand pulls commemorate the England vs Australia 2009 test series and also bear the logo of the England Cricket Board.

They will be in circulation between this month and September.

The temporary design puts much more emphasis on white than the cask beer's normal packaging, in which red is the dominant colour.

Drink Works, a London agency, created the design for the brewer.

Des Gallagher, Marston's brand manager, said: "Marston's Pedigree is proud to be the official beer of the England cricket team and as one of its true supporters, will don the national colours of red and white on all its packaging throughout June to September in support of the national side."

The limited edition follows soon after Pedigree adopted a new red and gold design in March.
