BMP DDB's nominations came across a wide number of clients, with work for The Guardian, Harvey Nichols and Volkswagen's Polo shortlisted along with two Marmite executions.
However, BMP DDB was not the most nominated agency for press and outdoor advertising. The Brazilian office of BBDO, Almap BBDO Sao Paulo, was nominated 44 times across a range of clients including Pepsi, FedEx and Volkswagen, while the French agency TBWA\Paris Boulogne-Billancourt received 28 nominations for campaigns it created on behalf of PlayStation2, Amnesty International and McDonald's.
TBWA\London's work for Absolut vodka was nominated for three awards, and also received nods for a campaign for the charity magazine The Big Issue and for an ad it created to promote Five's Michael Jackson documentary, featuring the strapline "under construction".
Other London agencies to receive nominations include Lowe, nominated 10 times for its work on the lager brand Stella Artois; M&C Saatchi, for work promoting Transport for London's bus lanes; and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, nominated five times for work on Virgin Atlantic, Land Rover and Toblerone.
Bartle Bogle Hegarty's anti-racist campaign for the National Union of Students, featuring a Union flag distorted to look like a swastika, was also nominated.
Surprisingly few nominations went to US agencies, which picked up just 36 nominations in press and outdoor out of 844 entries. Brazil was the most nominated country, with 100 nominations, followed by Germany, with 82 nominations, including one in the ambient category for a urinal ad on behalf of the Protestant church, created by Jung von Matt Germany.
UK agencies received 57 nominations, behind Spain, which was nominated 66 times.
The winners will be announced later today. The jury is lead by Dan Wieden, chief creative officer and CEO of Wieden & Kennedy.
