The new facility will become a centre of excellence for its retail and branding activity in the UK and Europe. The £1m investment comes at the end of a highly successful year for The Marketing Store that has included double-digit revenue growth.
As part of the move, Ian Humphris, previously responsible for the company's Leeds business, joins the Birmingham team as associate director. He will be responsible for an expanded and growing combined team and will head up all client business.
David Poole, The Marketing Store managing director, said: "We have been planning to move our Birmingham teams here for over two years, as Fort Dunlop is the ideal hub for our brand and retail operations. The facilities we have here are second to none and we have created a beautifully designed office environment, which will stimulate our creative output."
The Marketing Store will now have a team of more than 60 operating out of Birmingham, in addition to the agency's 120 staff in its London head office. The agency will be launching a recruitment drive next week as it seeks new talent to support recent client wins.
Catherine Gale, European chief executive, said: "This comes on the back of a very good year that has seen our client base grow and diversify. With such a great mix of the very best clients and this fantastic new combined team we are looking forward to an even more successful 2007."
From the new facilities, The Marketing Store will focus on key clients such as McDonald's, Masterfoods, Unilever and InBev.
