Marketing chief exits iVillage for ebookers

Women's portal iVillage UK is without a marketing manager following Morra Aarons' decision to join online travel brand ebookers.

After three years at iVillage UK, the £46.8 million joint venture between supermarket giant Tesco and US portal iVillage, Aarons has joined ebookers as UK head of online marketing.

Aarons said she left iVillage on amicable terms last week. "I've joined ebookers because I wanted to learn about e-commerce and travel seems to be a safe bet these days,

she added. "I'll be working on marketing the site, its offerings, affiliate partners and customer acquisition."

IVillage UK CEO Phil Rooke was not available for comment.

Separately, Basil Hyman has joined ebookers as UK head of sales from online publisher Fairfax (www.f2.com.au).
