The agreement covers the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, North America and South Africa, and comes as Manchester United completes its record-breaking signing of Leeds Utd defender Rio Ferdinand.
Wilkinson Sword will manufacture Manchester United-branded razors and toiletries, which will be available from September. These will be sold in the Manchester United Megastore, with further distribution on the cards.
Wilkinson Sword plans to support the sponsorship with marketing initiatives including retail link-ups, media partnerships, online activity and involvement in the Manchester United global tours. Wilkinson Sword retains J Walter Thompson for advertising, with Starfish Communications handling PR and Karen Earl Sponsorship working on the sponsorship side.
David Bainbridge, business director of Wilkinson Sword UK and Eire, said: "Both Wilkinson Sword and Manchester United are long established and pioneering brands. With a mutual target audience and a commitment to excellence, I am sure that the next four years will prove to be extremely beneficial to both parties."
