Manchester Evening News sponsors World Swimming Championships

MANCHESTER - Manchester Evening News will sponsor the FINA World Swimming Championships to be held in April next year at Manchester's M.E.N Arena.

As part of the deal, brokered by sports marketing agency Fast Track, the regional newspaper will report on all the championship action as well as advertising the five-day event to readers.

Marc Hope, director of rights marketing for Fast Track, said the Manchester Evening News would offer a great marketing platform for other commercial partners. The FINA Championships organisers are looking to sign two national partners and up to seven further national suppliers.

The FINA World Championships take place from Wednesday 9th April 2008 to Sunday 13th April 2008, with over 650 athletes from 120 different countries taking part. The event will be Manchester's biggest sporting competition since the Commonwealth Games and the first FINA World Swimming Championships of its kind ever to be staged in the UK.
