Next year’s event, taking place on 19 June, will have a theme of "Voyage of Discovery".
"We’re in difficult financial times but there are two major reasons why we feel next year’s Manchester Day Parade must be reapted," said Manchester City Council head of events Margaret Stephenson.

The parade feels like a community celebration of a location, as well as a world class event."
