Malcolm Wall leaves United Business Media after failing to get top job

LONDON – Malcolm Wall, the chief operating officer of United Business Media, is to leave the company after losing out to Symbian chief executive David Levin in the race to replace Lord Clive Hollick.

United said that Wall will leave on March 31 to pursue new opportunities. He has been chief operating officer since January 2001 and before that was chief executive officer of United's television interests since 1992.

His departure coincides with that of his boss Lord Hollick, who is due to stand down from United in May. Lord Hollick said: "Malcolm has been a great colleague who has built strong, successful businesses and shown outstanding leadership during his 12 years at United. We all wish him the very best in his next venture"
