Mobile network Vodafone got into trouble with the Advertising Standards Authority over a mailing to promote a 20% extra free calls mailing that included a throat lozenge, to promote the idea that users could talk for longer.
A member of the public claimed the campaign was irresponsible because the complainant's small child had opened the envelope and swallowed the lozenge and nearly choked.
Vodafone was told to take greater care when preparing similar mailings in the future.
Seeboard Energy was reprimanded after a recipient objected to claims that a mailer was "produced from recycled paper and is 100% environmentally friendly".
The ASA agreed that the ad was misleading and told the utility company to amend the claim under the guidance of its copy advice team.
