Mahiki manager offers to sign Youngs Guns band at showcase event: pictures

Last night entertainment agency Young Guns unveiled its latest act at West End club Mahiki as part of a special event.

More than 200 guests descended on the venue to , while guests were encouraged to come up with names for the new group.

The supplier of the winning name was Mango Pie managing director Mandy Mahill, who came up with the moniker of Alaska. As a result Young Guns gave her one of the club's celebrated Treasure Chest cocktails.

"The manager of Mahiki was so impressed that he offered us £200,000 to sign the band there and then," explained Young Guns director Alexandar Lyons.

He was not the only person to be interested in the band with record labels Sony and Island both in attendance on the night.

However, for the time being the band are on Young Guns books and are available now for corporate events.
