Made Up Media to create digital magazine for ITV.com

LONDON - Digital publishing company Made up Media has been commissioned by ITV.com to create an online magazine for its new 'Legends' series, which pits a team of former England football stars against international rivals in a three-game series.

The series features a team of England football legends from the 80s and 90s taking part in a series of games against Scotland, Germany and Ireland. Players include Graeme Le Saux, Stan Collymore and Bryan Robson, while the team is managed by former Everton, Manchester City, Sunderland and Leeds United boss Peter Reid.

Made Up Media was commissioned to provide a 12 page, page turning, digital England Scrapbook to accompany the 'Legends' series, which will be broadcast on ITV4 on Thursday, 15th May from 7pm.

The content within the eZine features 'WAGs To Pitches' -- an interactive spot-the-Wag quiz, a novel take on the traditional football sticker book (with the immortal question, 'If this player was a Panini he would be…') to a mythical Legends XI, featuring King Arthur, the Loch Ness Monster and a Wailing Banshee.

'The Legends eZine' will be emailed to 300,000 itv.com subscribers and will be available and updated all throughout the tournament. It will be free to view on

Marc Webber, head of content at itv.com, said: "The England Scrapbook is a brilliant way of taking the the passion of the legends as we remember them into the digital age. It's got the old soccer sticker album, some quirky facts and really shows off the atmosphere of what will be a great summer of football on ITV4 and itv.com."

Iestyn George, editor of the Legends magazine and founding director of Made Up Media said: "This is the sort of project we relish, because we were given a blank canvas by the client to create a project that has irreverent editorial with lots of interactive content."

"Every aspect of this project was produced in-house -- as far as I know we're the only company around that is capable of delivering projects from conception to conclusion -- editorial, production, coding, page-turning application, e-Shots and tracking."

The first match in the three-game 2008 'Legends' series will be England v Scotland, managed by Graeme Souness, at Southampton's St Mary’s Stadium next Thursday for the Alan Ball Memorial Cup. The England Legends will also play Ireland on July 3 and Germany on August 7. The game will be broadcast live on ITV4 from 7pm with extensive coverage online.
