Madden to head up planning at Kitcatt Nohr

LONDON - Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw has appointed the former Claydon Heeley chief executive Richard Madden to the role of joint planning director.

Madden resigned from Claydon Heeley two months after taking on the role, which also included the title of strategy director of the Omnicom network Zulu. In an all-staff e-mail he sent at the time, Madden explained that he was "not match-fit" and was "not ready to take on a job of the scale of Claydon Heeley".

In his new position, Madden will run the planning department alongside Lazar Dzamic. The pair will split the role of planning director, with Madden taking on responsibility for the brand and direct marketing planning strategy, and Dzamic focusing on the agency's digital planning strategy.

The appointment is the latest in a series of senior appointments at Kitcatt Nohr. Two weeks ago, it hired Phil Keevil as its creative director. In June, Chris Cowpe joined as a non-executive director, and Huw Davis joined as the data director in March.

Marc Nohr, a managing partner at Kitcatt Nohr, said: "This is a real coup for the agency. We've wanted to tempt Richard over here ever since we launched."

Before Claydon Heeley, Madden, a copywriter-turned-planner, was the planning director of Tequila\London, a role he resigned in autumn last year.
